Use of a MasterCard While in a Debt Relief Order
If you are in a debt relief order or thinking of applying for a debt relief order and you need to use a credit or debit card for work, you will not be eligible to hold or apply for a credit card. However, you can get a special no-credit MasterCard that will allow you to make online transactions or use your MasterCard anyplace you would normally use a credit card. To get one, click here.
The loss of a credit card is especially difficult for people that have to travel or use a credit card in work related efforts. Rather than have to disclose the loss of your access to credit cards in the DRO, the special no-credit MasterCard can be used in its place. Nobody will be able to tell this MasterCard is special or unique by looking at it.
Searching Online for People That Have Undertaken a Debt Relief Order
It is expected that people that have received relief under a debt relief order (DRO) will be able to be search online through the Individual Insolvency Register. If you would like to search the register, you can do so online here.
